Long Term Planning Presentation

At the June 19, 2017 City Council meeting City Manager Aaron Adams gave a long term planning presentation that showed implementation of the 2015 Young's Park Master Plan as well as repairs to the Knoxville Municipal Airport's runway.

The master plan was divided into two projects, Young's Park South would be a $1.6M investment which includes a new and updated skate park, sand volleyball courts, updated restroom facilities and additional parking. Also included in Young's Park South is the Knoxville School District's project for new tennis courts. Young's Park North would be a $1.8M investment which includes new restroom facilities, concessions, ages 5-12 playground, splash pad and sail shelter as well as additional parking.

As for the Airport project, the City of Knoxville is eligible to receive a 90/10 Federal Aviation Administration grant in which the City would invest $500,000 allowing for a $5M investment into the airport runway and hangar improvements.
