[ARCHIVED] Streetscape is well underway...Get your camera!

streetscape damage

Since construction began on Monday, March 3, Hawkeye Paving has had much success removing the asphalt, concrete and traffic signals along Robinson Street. When work began, the underground frost was so deep, it penetrated over 3 feet and made concrete removal extremely difficult. When the construction team was attempting to break the street, it was like breaking through one solid, extremely large piece of concrete because it all held together. The weather has warmed the ground and crews are able to remove concrete.

The City has been encouraging tenants and property owners to get their cameras and get pictures of the interior and exterior walls of their buildings, particularly the walls along Robinson Street. In the event damage is caused by the construction, please contact the City at 641-891-3408.
